Very very good posting. Its very humourous as well as very thoughtful especially the last para!!!The only line i disagree is son-in-laws are painful to all father in laws. I think it is the other way round!!

--Excellent words Mr.Wakeupcall....The sacrifice of the father is not widely appreciated. I was really moved when I saw Cheran's Thavamai Thavamiriundhu! I watched this movie few months after my dad's demise....

I think recital of mantras in Tamil should be encouraged. Everyone can understand what the priest is talking about. I am seeing priests in U.S translating the mantras/slogas to the kids of the Indian origin, in English!
